ABOUT NABO

Nabo is the social network for your suburb connecting neighbours in over 8,400 communities across Australia.

Top Five Posts in March

Over 300,000 Nabo members all over Australia use Nabo in a variety of different ways. Whether it's using the site to make new friends, or sharing local information or just a smile, it makes all the hard work at Nabo HQ worth it. This month, we've seen amazing content from Western Australia to New South Wales and we want to share it with all our members so you can be inspired to be part of your community. If your featured in this month's Top Posts, make sure you make a comment at the end of this blog post! The first person featured in the Top Posts to comment on the blog will receive a $50 Coles Myer Voucher.

Here are some of our favourite posts we've seen on Nabo in the past month.

COFFEE CATCH-UPS IN WOLLONGONG, NSW...

One of the most popular ways for Nabo members to meet new people is to organise a local coffee meet up at a local café in a central location. This group in Wollongong have done just that – and have been kind enough to share a photo too! If you’re in the Wollongong area, why not join in? Look for groups in your 'hood now.

...AND SOUTH AUSTRALIA, TOO!

We love seeing photos from coffee groups, so please keep them coming! Finding a time and a place that suits everyone is the hardest part, so don’t be disheartened if you’re hitting roadblocks. Even if it’s just two of you, persevere and make it a regular thing. Others will join when they can and these ladies from SA are the proof in the pudding. If you're looking to connect with neighbours over a coffee, update your interests to include coffee - or any other topic that floats your boat. It makes it easier for you to find neighbours with matching interests (and for them to find you).

CATS BEING CATS

Karen from Victoria got the fright of her life when her “STUPID CAT” brought an unwanted guest in to her home.  Not all snakes are venomous, but we can’t say we would have reacted much differently if out kitty had given us this treat…If stories like this make you giggle, it might be a good idea to list cats as an interest on Nabo - there are almost 20,000 of us

WHO DOESN'T LOVE PUPPIES?

Jacquie from NSW shared a wonderful photo of her dog’s latest litter of Golden Retrievers on their way to their 6-week check up! Not all posts have to be serious, some can just put a smile on your neighbour’s dial – isn’t that what good neighbours are for? If something makes you smile, share it with your neighbours on Nabo.

GOOD SAMARITANS ARE JUST A FEW STREETS AWAY

Jo in WA definitely has her hands full, caring for her elderly parents AND working full-time. She needed help to transport her mum for a new exercise program nearby and asked her neighbours on Nabo if they’d be able to help her out. Amazingly, her neighbour Deborah volunteered her services, which was heart-warming to see. If you’re caught in a pickle, don’t overlook the people closest to you. Ask your neighbours if they can help you out – you might be surprised by the response.

Neighbours like Deborah are exactly the type of people we're celebrating in our #NaboNeighbour Competition. If you know someone who goes above and beyond for their community and the people who are part of it, then nominate them as a #NaboNeighbour. They'll go in the draw to win an amazing gift pack worth $350 just lIke Mary and Kimy.

Seen a post you think belongs in next month's collection? We want to see it! Send a screenshot or hyperlink to the post to annabel@nabo.com.au and we'll do our best to include it in the Top Five posts for March. The best posts showcase neighbours helping each other out, interacting offline, or something to put a smile on our dial.
